These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which we provide our rubbish removal and waste collection services in Richmond upon Thames and surrounding areas. By booking a collection, using our services, or permitting our operatives to access your premises, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing a booking.
In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below:
Customer means the person, business, organisation or other entity making a booking or on whose behalf a booking is made for rubbish removal or waste collection services.
Services means the rubbish removal, waste collection, clearance, loading, transportation, and related services that we agree to provide to the Customer.
Waste means any household, commercial or other non-hazardous waste that we agree to collect and remove, as described in the booking confirmation.
Site means the property, premises or location at which the Services are to be carried out.
We, us or our means the rubbish removal service provider operating in Richmond upon Thames.
We provide rubbish removal and waste collection services for domestic and commercial customers. Our Services typically include loading your rubbish or unwanted items onto our vehicle, removing them from the Site, transporting them to an authorised waste facility, and ensuring disposal or recycling in compliance with applicable waste regulations.
The precise scope of Services will be detailed in your booking confirmation and may include, where agreed, clearance from specific rooms or areas, garden waste removal, bulky item collection, or one-off clearance jobs. We do not provide building or demolition work, cleaning services or any activities outside the agreed waste removal and related tasks.
Customers may request a booking by telephone, email, online form or other method we make available. When you make a booking request, you must provide accurate information about the type and approximate volume or weight of waste, access conditions at the Site, and any special requirements.
We may provide an estimated price based on the information you supply. This estimate is not binding and may be revised if the actual volume, weight, type of waste or Site conditions differ from those described. A booking is only confirmed when we explicitly accept it and provide you with a booking confirmation, including the date, approximate arrival window and indicative charges.
We reserve the right to refuse a booking for any reason, including where the waste is hazardous, access is unsafe, or the Services are not suitable for your needs. We may ask for photographs or further details of the waste and Site conditions before confirming your booking.
You are responsible for providing us with safe, reasonable and timely access to the Site to enable us to carry out the Services. This includes ensuring that:
The Site is safe, free from unnecessary obstructions and any hazards are disclosed to us in advance.
Any required permissions, permits or authorisations from landlords, managing agents, local authorities or others are obtained before our arrival.
Parking or stopping space for our vehicle is available as close as reasonably possible to the Site. Any parking fees or fines arising from circumstances within your control may be added to your final bill.
Someone aged 18 or over is present at the Site at the agreed time to grant access and, where applicable, to sign off the waste collection.
If we are unable to gain access to the Site or to safely carry out the Services due to your act or omission, we may charge a call-out or wasted journey fee.
Our Services apply to general household and commercial waste, furniture, appliances, garden waste, and certain building and refurbishment waste, subject to applicable weight and volume limits.
We do not routinely accept hazardous, toxic or specialist waste, including but not limited to asbestos, medical or clinical waste, chemicals, solvents, oils, fuel, gas bottles, pressurised containers, batteries in bulk, explosives, or any substance classified as hazardous under UK legislation. If such items are presented for collection without prior agreement, we may refuse to collect them and may still charge for our attendance.
Electrical and electronic equipment may be collected, but additional charges may apply to ensure compliant disposal or recycling. You are responsible for notifying us in advance of any items that may require specialist handling or disposal.
If we reasonably believe that any waste breaches legal requirements, is unsafe to handle, or is misdescribed, we are entitled to refuse part or all of the load, and to charge for any costs already incurred.
Our charges are generally based on the volume or weight of waste removed, the type of materials, labour time involved, and any additional services or disposal fees. We will inform you of our pricing structure when you make a booking and provide an estimate where possible.
Final charges will be confirmed on Site once our operatives have inspected the waste and assessed the nature of the job. If there is a significant difference between the estimate and the final price due to inaccurate or incomplete information provided at booking, you may choose not to proceed, but we may charge a call-out or minimum fee to cover our costs.
Unless agreed otherwise in writing, payment is due immediately upon completion of the Services. We may accept payment by cash, card, bank transfer or other methods that we notify to you in advance. For commercial Customers, we may issue an invoice with a specified payment term; failure to pay within that term may incur interest and recovery costs as permitted by law.
We reserve the right to require part or full payment in advance, particularly for larger collections or repeat commercial arrangements. Title in any collected waste transfers to us only once full payment for the Services has been received, except where otherwise required by law.
You may cancel or amend your booking by contacting us as soon as possible. If you cancel more than 24 hours before the scheduled arrival window, no cancellation fee will normally apply. If you cancel within 24 hours of the booking, or if we attend the Site and are unable to carry out the Services due to reasons beyond our control, we may charge a cancellation or wasted journey fee.
If you wish to change the date, time, Site address or scope of work, we will try to accommodate your request but cannot guarantee availability. Any changes may alter the price or require a new booking confirmation.
We will use reasonable endeavours to attend during the agreed arrival window, but this is an estimate only. We are not liable for minor delays caused by traffic, weather, vehicle breakdowns or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. If we anticipate a significant delay, we will contact you to discuss alternatives or rearrangement. In the event of severe disruption, we may reschedule the booking without liability, other than refunding any prepayment for Services not delivered.
By using our Services, you warrant that:
You are the owner of the waste or have full authority from the owner to arrange its removal and disposal.
The waste does not include prohibited or unlawfully stored materials and is accurately described to the best of your knowledge.
Any appliances or electrical items presented for removal are fully disconnected, safe to handle and do not present a risk to our operatives or third parties.
You agree to indemnify us against any claims, losses, liabilities, fines or expenses arising from your breach of these warranties, including but not limited to misdescription of waste, lack of authority, or failure to obtain necessary consents for access and removal.
We will exercise reasonable care and skill when providing the Services. However, except where prohibited by law, our liability to you is limited as follows.
We are not liable for any indirect, consequential or economic loss, including loss of profits, loss of business, or loss of opportunity, arising from or in connection with the Services or these Terms and Conditions.
We are not responsible for any pre-existing damage at the Site or to items that are inherently fragile, poorly constructed, or not suitable for movement. If access is restricted, or we are requested to remove items over walls, through narrow staircases, or through other tight spaces, you accept the risk of minor damage to paintwork, flooring or similar, and we will not be liable for cosmetic or incidental damage reasonably associated with the clearance process.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Services, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, shall not exceed the price paid or payable for the specific job that gives rise to the claim, except in the case of death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
You must notify us in writing of any complaint or claim as soon as reasonably practicable and in any event within 7 days of completion of the Services, providing full details and supporting evidence where available.
We operate in accordance with applicable UK waste management and environmental regulations. We will transport and dispose of collected waste only at authorised facilities and, where appropriate, will prioritise reuse and recycling to reduce landfill. We may hold relevant registrations or licences required for the collection and carriage of controlled waste.
Once your waste has been loaded onto our vehicle and payment has been made, we assume responsibility for its lawful handling and disposal. However, we are not responsible for any waste left behind that you did not present for removal or that we reasonably refused to take, for example due to hazardous content or safety concerns.
We may, on request and where applicable, provide evidence of lawful transfer or disposal of waste, such as a waste transfer note or similar documentation. You agree to retain any such documentation for your own compliance purposes where required, particularly in a commercial context.
We take the safety of our operatives, Customers and the public seriously. We may carry out basic risk assessments on arrival and throughout the job. If we consider that conditions at the Site present an unacceptable safety risk, we may suspend or refuse to carry out the Services, in whole or in part.
You must inform us of any known hazards at the Site, such as structural issues, broken glass, sharp objects, unsafe staircases, aggressive animals or other risks. You must also keep children, pets and unauthorised persons away from working areas while the Services are being performed.
We may collect and process personal data about you, such as your name, address, contact details and payment information, for the purposes of handling bookings, providing Services, managing accounts, and meeting our legal obligations. We will take reasonable steps to keep this information secure and will not sell your details to third parties.
Your data may be shared with trusted service providers, such as payment processors, insurers or waste transfer facilities, where necessary to deliver the Services or comply with the law. We will retain your data only for as long as is reasonably necessary for these purposes or as otherwise required by law.
We may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time of your booking will apply to that booking. We recommend that you review the Terms and Conditions periodically if you use our services regularly.
These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Services, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
You and we agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising from or relating to these Terms and Conditions or the provision of our rubbish removal and waste collection services.
If you have any questions about these Terms and Conditions, or if you wish to discuss a booking, cancellation, complaint or other matter relating to our rubbish removal services in Richmond upon Thames, please contact us using the communication methods made available to you at the time of booking or on our customer documentation.
